The CARING Lab was proud to participate in this year's Walk to End Alzheimer's alongside our valued community partners, the Alzheimer's Association of Northern California and Northern Nevada (AANCNN).
Co-Investigator JiWon Choi, Project Policy Analyst Kattia Suarez Vargas, and dedicated volunteers Diana Del Rosario and Roger Coble joined the AANCNN table, where we promoted brain health awareness and conducted community outreach to caregivers for the C-CARERS Project. Working side-by-side with AANCNN staff, we connected with families and individuals touched by Alzheimer's dementia, sharing resources and building relationships that will support our ongoing research efforts.
The event truly showcased the power of collaboration, with our partners at On Lok tabling nearby to raise awareness about Club 75, the Openhouse + On Lok Community Day Services Program, an important resource for LGBTQ+ older adults in our community.
Today's Walk to End Alzheimer's was a beautiful reminder that we're never alone in this fight. This is what community looks like.
Together with the Alzheimer's Association of Northern California & Northern Nevada, On Lok, Openhouse, and the UCSF Institute for Health & Aging, we're building a network of support, research, and hope that will continue to make a difference in the lives of older adults, caregivers, and those affected by Alzheimer's dementia. 💜 #ENDALZ
