IHSS+ ADRD Training Project
The IHSS+ ADRD Training Project seeks to address the burden on older adults and their caregivers as well as the economic costs associated with ADRD within California's Medi-Cal funded IHSS system.

IHSS+ ADRD Training Project Goals

The In-Home Supportive Services+ Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias (IHSS+ ADRD) Training Project seeks to address the burden on older adults and their caregivers as well as the economic costs associated with ADRD within California's Medi-Cal funded IHSS system. The goals include:

  • Implement a competency-based dementia training program for IHSS caregivers and their IHSS consumers.
  • Evaluate the training program’s impact on caregiving, long-term services and support systems, and health systems.

The IHSS+ ADRD Training Project utilizes a community-based participatory research and program evaluation hybrid model, to strive toward project goals, in a partnership between the UCSF Institute for Health & Aging, Center for Caregiver Advancement, and Alameda Alliance for Health.
